SPOTLIGHT ON UNION CENTER
CBH CO-OP’s Dryland Corn Plot was held at Grady Matt’s ranch south of Union Center on Thursday, October 1stat 4pm. The test plot contained 30 different trials, incorporating varieties, population, and fertility. The Croplan trials were set side by side with some of the area’s competitors to show how you can best maximize your production in our typically arid climate. Grady Matt offered up approximately 20 acres of his land, time, experience, and effort to help bring us the forthcoming test plot results. After the plot tour at Grady’s, the area producers convened for an enjoyable evening sponsored by CBH CO-OP and Croplan Seed at Nellie’s in Enning for an amazing BBQ rib dinner and conversation. The trial results are finalized and will be provided for grower review in the upcoming month. An enormous THANK YOU to Grady Matt and family for all that is offered to the test plot year after year. We appreciate your kindness and generosity to CBH CO-OP and the surrounding communities.
The performance of Croplan’s4507 sorghum is very significant and as such we will be providing a guarantee to qualifying growers. The CBH guarantee will be that the initial cost of seed between conventional millet and Croplan 4507 be offset by yield in the grower's field. If the yield of 4507 does not offset the seed price difference, CBH will reimburse the seed cost difference. This is a no lose offer to qualified growers. Give Brandon or Todd a call, they are more than willing to talk out the specifics of the guarantee with you.
With all seed pricing the highest discounts are offered prior to January 1st. Why wait? - Early booking assures best pricing and you are getting a product performance guarantee.
We extend another grateful THANK YOU to CBH energy driver Scott Bryant. Scott is one of our LP drivers out of Rapid City, and he generously stepped up to deliver fuel in the Union Center area on Tuesdays and Thursdays this past spring and summer. Scott is familiar with the area and it was a seamless fit, as well as the company receiving many compliments on his service. While Scott was helping out, Union Center’s own Norman Hanzlik obtained his CDL and endorsements to take over the route. Way to go Norman!
